The Mauna Ocean Resort

A VERY GOOD PLACE TO RELAX, GOLF, AND MOUNTAINEER.

The room was 35 pyeong (approximately 110 square feet), remodeled and clean, but there are still plenty of things that could be improved. The faucet leaks, the spa is very small, and the facilities feel old and somewhat lacking. Since it's a remote location, getting to an outside restaurant takes at least 15 minutes. It'd be nice to have something to eat at the resort, but the facilities aren't all that satisfying. It's part of the Kolon family, so there are a lot of things to be sorry about.

The mountain setting gave us excellent scenery and fresh air, and the 35-pyeong Village facilities were clean. But service and amenities had several shortcomings. There were few places to eat within the resort, so we drove about 15 minutes down the mountain to find food. We stayed multiple nights, but they only put the towels back and didn't clean the room. The used towels piled in one corner were left untouched. Those missed basics were disappointing.

We barely managed to make this trip with my family, and I never expected it to leave us with this kind of memory. I don't usually write reviews, but I hope other people don't make the same mistake we did. The advertising seemed aimed at a professional company. It looked good, but it really wasn't. Calling it a "pool" is embarrassing, it was more like a local bathhouse. Even that bathhouse would have been closed at least once. And "ping-pong room" is an exaggeration too, since there's only one table. We came for breakfast and a group of teenagers arrived. If they'd told us ahead of time and asked families to come 30 minutes later, we could have had more time to relax. Please choose carefully...
