Sonofelice Village Vivaldipark

Walking beneath an umbrella, I could see the white cherry blossoms at Sonobel Vivaldi Park look even clearer against the rain. The damp paths were calming, almost like quiet meditation, and the drops on the petals shone like little transparent jewels. In the still fog, the flowers made the world’s noise and bustle fade for a while. On a rainy day, the whole forest felt like a pure white dream.

A great place to stay ☆ Ocean World is right in front, but the walk there felt much longer than I expected in the summer heat. I wish there were an underground connection or a more direct route.

It’s a huge ski resort, with a decent water park in summer. With so many people around, though, there’s noise all year round.

We had a peaceful weekday getaway in spring, right in the mountains, and it wasn’t crowded at all. The resort is family-friendly and about an hour from eastern Seoul. Our room was very spacious. Unless you’re there for one of the resort activities like golf, the pool, or skiing, there isn’t much to do beyond relaxing.
