S Stay Dongtan Hotel (formerly Days Hotel Dongtan)

We'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're going to Dongtan. The staff were great, friendly, courteous, and spoke very good to excellent English. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are newer and refreshed regularly. My only small gripe was the lack of English translations for the TV and remote. We had to scroll through the options for a long time, but that was our least concern.

It's a very central hotel with good internet and clean, fairly large rooms that have all the amenities you need. I especially liked finding free ice cream in the lobby after a hot day out. I'll definitely stay here again.

This hotel does Western, or American-style, amenities well for the price. You get free Wi-Fi, laundry rooms, a microwave, a fridge, a TV, and a very fancy toilet. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the staff speak English. The rooms are nice, but the balcony is very close to the bed, so street noise may bother light sleepers. Cool air also comes in around the balcony window. Otherwise, it's a good hotel for foreigners.

For work, this hotel had exactly the basics I needed: a bed, a bathroom, and a TV with a couple of English channels. The iron was especially good, and I used it every day during my five-day stay. I probably wouldn't choose it for a holiday unless I were on a budget and had a reason to be near Dongtan, but it suited my business trip perfectly.
