Urbanstay Dongtan

The room condition was not bad, and parking registration and luggage storage were useful extras. The location is good, but the service isn't adequate, and some other amenities may be inconvenient compared with nearby Ramada Dongtan or Shilla Stay Dongtan. The price is better than those hotels, with a significant difference if you're staying multiple nights.

There's no reception and very little guidance. Even after registering your car number for parking in the app, you still have to call again. The towels smell, and during a stay of several nights, they won't provide towels or water unless you ask.

The city view from my high-floor room on the 17th floor was amazing, and the spacious parking lot made parking easy. You do need to register your car for free parking, though. I nearly had to pay because I forgot. I was here on a business trip, and since it's in the same building as the Stars Hotel, navigation made it easy to find. I'll definitely stay here again on my next work trip.

I stayed here three times over two months because of my child’s nearby school. The first room I got on the 15th floor was excellent, but two later stays in rooms on the 14th floor were really disappointing. The rooms weren’t much different from each other. The bathrooms had lots of stains, though I can’t be sure what they were, and the overall cleanliness was poor. The rates are fairly affordable, it’s easy to reach customer service, and the staff do try to sort things out. I just wish they’d fix the cleanliness. It’s a shame.
