The room and service matched the hotel’s class, and the location was excellent. Since it was April and still a bit chilly, though, I wished the heating worked a little better.

I liked the quiet, secluded setting on the outskirts of Seoul, about an hour’s drive from the city center. There’s a convenience store across the street, and HBC Fried Chicken, an amusement park, and a small night market are a 5-10 minute walk away, so it’s easy to find snacks and things to do. The staff at the counter and restaurant were very friendly and joked around with me. When I asked for a plastic bag for breakfast, they offered to get some toast for my sleeping child and reminded me to take jam. My son accidentally broke a plastic bowl, but they said it was fine and that they’d clean it up, and urged him to eat quickly. When he asked about compensation, they again said it was all right and told him to eat quickly. We extended our stay to four nights. They took out the trash and made the beds each day. They brought water on the second day, but we hadn’t drunk much, so there wasn’t any on the third day. The air conditioning is adjustable, and the bathroom had good water flow and hot water pressure. In the triple room, two 29-inch windows and one 26-inch window could run at once. One 20-inch window couldn’t run at the same time, but that should be fine. There was also a table and chairs, a 1-to-4 charging cable, a voltage converter, and mosquito repellent.

I stayed one night for two on Sunday, June 8, 2025, after reading the reviews, and came away disappointed. I had to call the counter for towels when I was about to shower, then contact them again after showering because there were none. I couldn’t understand why the room wasn’t ready for guests. The towels they brought were crumpled and unwrapped, so they looked used. There was no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so I had to use a towel to keep the water in. Even regular motels provide this sort of service. It’s hard to understand from a place calling itself a three-star hotel.

The room smelled musty, the heating vents were very dusty, and sound carried through the poor insulation. The place seems old, even though the interior had been tidied up a little, and the overall cleanliness was terrible. I couldn’t sleep in the bed. The sheets had hair, fine dust, and even dead insects. The duvet cover was yellowed, the pillows weren’t clean, and the mattress seemed old too. 😟

The location was handy for the beach, seafood stir-fry restaurants along the shore, and a lively little amusement park with a pirate ship, carousel, Ferris wheel, and other rides. At the end of the amusement park street, BHC Fried Chicken had friendly, helpful staff, though the chicken nuggets were a letdown and didn’t match our expectations. Maybe we’ve watched too many Korean dramas and expected too much. Breakfast options were limited. The kimchi was too salty for us, but the fried rice, meat stir-fried with kimchi, and seaweed soup were tasty and filling. In the room, the carpet was a little dirty and old, while the bathroom and beds were clean and comfortable. The room itself was simply furnished.
