Ganghwa ilmarae Pension

There’s a pool that seems great for a stay with kids, plus a separate outdoor spot for grilling meat. At the central two-story building, the first and second floors are separate guest rooms, even though they share an entrance. It sits along a path beyond a field, so take care finding your way in after dark.

The place was quiet and clean, and the room had more space than I expected. It’s a studio, but a built-in closet beside the bed separates that area from the kitchen. There was even a sea view from the barbecue area. When we opened the door, the wood smell made it feel like a little forest bath. My husband and I laughed that we should stay here again next time we visit Ganghwa Island.

A quiet, cozy spot with a lovely, spacious lawn garden that’s kept in good shape. It’s also been used as a filming location for lots of dramas and commercials. Really charming and beautiful.

The room was charming and pretty, and I couldn’t figure out why there were empty rooms. For a one-night visit to Ganghwa Island, it’s a great place unless you’re planning a longer stay and trying to get your money’s worth.
