Howard Johnson by Wyndham Incheon Airport

The room itself was spacious and worked well for our transit stop. The check-in experience with the lady receptionist was awful, though. She was abrupt and rude, with no greeting or welcome, and kept a scowl on her face. From what other reviews say, she seems to be in a bad mood all the time. Worst hotel reception I’ve experienced.

It’s a cheap hotel, so I didn’t expect much, and the room was okay for my one night before an early flight. But the shower pressure was awful. We booked for two people and got just one towel, no hand towels and no bath mat. I called reception three times. They said they knew about it but were too busy to send anyone up, and it took three hours from my first call to get the towels. That wasn’t good enough. At least it’s close to the airport, about 30 minutes door to door, and there are lots of eateries nearby, so finding food isn’t a problem.

The service from the staff was unfriendly. I arrived at 14:57 and an employee waved me over, then told me check-in was at 15:00, repeating, “Three minutes, three minutes.” A man beside me was checking in, so I don’t understand why she called me to the desk just to make me wait. The same woman handled my checkout the next day. She said nothing, then impatiently typed when I asked for an invoice. Once it printed, she left it on the desk and walked away. Very poor service from hotel staff.

There are cafes and restaurants all around, and shops like Olive Young, Lotte mart and Daiso nearby. It’s a nice hotel in Incheon, close to both the train station and the airport.
