Maeil Olle Market is right by the hotel, so it's easy to grab local street food for lunch or dinner and browse souvenir shops. Bus stops are nearby too. Those were the only real upsides for me. The room was so tiny I could barely open my luggage. I had several problems and questions, but no one was ever at the downstairs counter. Calling the front desk was possible, though the staff's limited English made it harder to communicate. I appreciate that they tried to help, but having nobody there in person was frustrating. I also only learned after leaving that room cleaning costs extra. I've stayed at places where it's included, and without realizing the fee, my rubbish piled up and left me really unhappy. Their lobby slogan says, "Why pay more? Compact but good enough." Looking back, I'd rather have paid more, because compact really wasn't good enough.

There was no concierge at any point during our week-long stay. We weren't allowed to park at the hotel before check-in. After checking in, we had to wait until every car cleared the basement before we could park there, so we had to use the paid lots across the road until then. The rooms were small, and despite booking a "nice view" through agoda, we got a second-floor room with censored windows. There was no daily cleaning. Staff couldn't communicate well in English. I hadn't expected English service, but thought having someone who could communicate would make sense.

I arrived at 22:30 and the lobby check-in machine made self check-in easy and convenient. The hotel's parking was full, though, so I had to look for somewhere on the street. I did find a spot, but it was still a hassle.

Kenny Stay has a lot going for it, but some things were a pain. The location is great, with Olle market just behind for food and shopping, and restaurants nearby. The buns at Jeseong Bakery were really delicious. Parking is free, though the regular spaces are very tight and there don't seem to be many. I found out there's also indoor stacked parking, where a revolving platform turns your car toward the ramp for the automated system. I had to insist on using it because the attendant kept trying to put me in one of the tiny manual spaces, which was a hassle. Check-in and checkout are fully automated, with nobody around for questions. Better information about parking and laundry would help, since you otherwise have to figure it all out yourself. The room was really hot and we couldn't adjust the temperature. We opened the windows to air it out, but the high-wind warning signs made us nervous about leaving them open. Sure enough, a hotel window broke during our visit and shards fell to the ground, so the risk felt real. You can either put up with the heat or worry about a window breaking. The price is very good for what you get, but it comes with these tradeoffs. Knowing all that, I'd consider somewhere else next time.
