Robero Hotel Jeju

Getting around was easy: the location is very ideal, near the airport, with great parking and right outside a dongmen underground shopping mall exit. City spots, OY, and Starbucks are within walking distance, and there’s a convenience stall around the corner. BUT THE ROOM WAS SHIT. We got a standard twin, which seemed like the only option. There were three rooms for three couples, but the bed was so small it felt like a super single. I don’t know how we got through the past few days, ugh. Two separate beds might have been better. Service was, well, shit. Checkout is at 11, by the way. We got confused by the usual hotel checkout time and were charged 10,000/room for all 4 rooms. There was zero humanity when we tried to explain. The hotel offered pretty much no support.

The location is the one positive: it’s close to the market and main street. The main problem was the poor cleanliness. There was a thick layer of gray dust in the wall corners that looked as if it had been there for years, and the bathroom floor had lots of hairs. I couldn’t tell whether they were from the cleaning staff or previous guests. The hotel is old and hasn’t been renovated in a long time, so the standard is very low. There were no staff around and everything was handled through self check-in. Luggage storage was just an open area where anyone could take your bags. A sign said it was monitored, but I wouldn’t risk losing my luggage on flight day and having to deal with the police. I found that irresponsible.

There’s nobody to see at reception, since check-in is all self service. At checkout time, the chamber maid will knock on your door.

The rooms look old and worn, from the carpet to the furniture. Staff were helpful when answering questions, though during check-in we had to look around and call a bit before someone came to the desk. There was no bell to ring. The location is decent, not too far from the open air market, but still a bit of a walk from the waterfront.
