The dorm itself was spacious, and the bunks were comfortable. Still, the way the stay was run and my interactions with the host left me uncomfortable. The owner entered the female-only room without waiting for permission. I had a late flight and was told I could check in by myself. Even after I let the host know I’d be delayed, I kept getting asked when I would arrive. The 10-4pm room clearance for cleaning was also inconvenient after a late arrival. I was the only guest for the first two days, so it felt unnecessary, especially since shared areas like the dining room weren’t fully cleaned. I don’t think the website gives enough warning about this rule. The daily cleaning schedule seemed more like a way to save costs than to actually clean, and during cleaning all electricity was turned off and guests couldn’t enter their rooms. The AC was weak, and the place often smelled musty and stale. The shower shoes they provided were mouldy, which made the bathroom feel unhygienic. There’s only one shower in the female dorm, and in the evenings people had to queue for it. The 11pm curfew in the common area also means it doesn’t offer a social atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend it to solo female travelers.
