The guesthouse is clean and neat, and breakfast is delicious. It has a charming feel in spring, summer, and fall, but the single door can let in a chill during winter. Since it opens right outside, there isn't much privacy, and how quiet it is seems to depend on how many guests are staying.

The bedding was wonderfully soft and cozy, and the set was so good that I took a photo of the product name hoping to buy one. I still haven't managed to find it, so please leave a comment if you know where to get it. The living room’s high ceiling also made the place feel cozy. The interior has a large room, a smaller room, a living room, and a kitchen, with a warehouse stocked with appliances including a washer and dryer. We stayed comfortably for two nights and three days at a rural homestay. A friend from the mainland found it online. The old house had been renovated: the main building, or angeori, served as the guesthouse, while a grandmother lived in the outer building, or bakgeori. A huge Japanese zelkova tree, apparently hundreds of years old, stands midway along the Olle trail to the guesthouse. It’s a peaceful spot for a morning walk, near Hallim Myeongwoljinseong Fortress, Myeongwol Pine Tree Trail, and Myeongwol Elementary School (cafe). My Google Maps timeline labels it 'Injeju Guesthouse,' but that’s wrong. The address is 137-11 Myeongwolseong-ro, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si. On our last morning, just as I was about to check out, heavy equipment arrived and construction began on the empty lot right next to the accommodation.

The owner is friendly, the place feels cozy, and breakfast is tasty. The one drawback is the bathroom door: it’s translucent glass and there’s no lock.

This was just the quiet, Jeju-style place I’d been looking for. The owners were really kind and thoughtful, and breakfast was fantastic too.

It's a peaceful guesthouse with a good breakfast, though there’s no TV. The host serves toast, omelet rice, salad, and drinks in the morning. There’s also a big black dog, a dachshund, and a tuxedo cat, but they aren’t kept on the property.
