The biggest problem for me was the room temperature. There was no AC control to cool it down for sleeping, and the only way to get cooler air was to open the windows. Heating comes from the floor. I guess the hoteliers think they know what's best and what temperature guests should swelter in, but people aren't all the same, which is why AC units have temperature controls. The toilet gave me tiny electric shocks on my left bum cheek, maybe from a wiring short or some weird massage setting. The bathroom was cold and stayed wet much of the time. From the top-floor Suite Twin on the fifth floor, the view down the street toward the beach was good, but the balcony never got sun and was chilly to sit on. Kai Hotel is a few streets back from the main beach road. Late in the evening and into the morning, drunk hotel guests could be noisy, yelling and screaming on their way back like children.

Inside, the room didn't disappoint: it was fairly modern, clean, and reasonably spacious, with a kitchen. The beach and coffee shops are about a five-minute walk away, so it seems like a good spot for families, especially at this price. My first impression was that the hotel felt very Chinese, and the outside doesn't look that nice.

Thanks so much for the hospitality. We arrived with my family around 9 a.m., even though check-in starts at 3 p.m., and they let us into our room right away without an extra charge. The hotel was clean and the service friendly. Highly recommended.

The location worked well for exploring the west side of Jeju for a few days, especially with a larger group. Famous Hyeopjae is nearby, as is Halim park, and there are many restaurants by the beach and around the hotel. Two convenience shops are about 100 m away, where we walked each night for snacks and drinks. Our unit felt like a small apartment, with two rooms, a bathroom, and a fully functional kitchen. There was lots of space, and we really enjoyed the balcony.

The pool was drained when we visited, so we couldn't use it. The staff were helpful, and the rooms were nice and clean. It's close to the beach and reasonably priced, though the view from the lower floors isn't that great.
