Jeju Oreum Guesthouse

The yard was my favorite part. It has chairs and tables, plus a hammock where you can lie back and watch the stars on a clear night. The guesthouse is a little distance from the beach, which makes it nice for a peaceful break, and pickups are available. Inside, the dorms, bathrooms, and shared spaces were clean and handy. There were books and board games in the common room, along with a coffee machine guests could use. Breakfast was Korean-style, and the morning sunrise outing goes up Darangshi Oreum. Having a smart Oreum was even better, and I enjoyed walking with Oreum. Check-in at 3 p.m. and checkout at 11 a.m. left me plenty of time to explore. I was so happy with my stay that I'd definitely come back. 🙂

I gave it five stars after reading reviews and thinking through the tradeoffs before booking. The room didn't seem dirty, but parts of it felt worn from age. If you like a country-style atmosphere, that may actually suit you. The setting is remote, which is great if you're after Jeju's nature and seclusion. Without a car, though, the distance is a downside. There's a pickup service, but after check-in it's still about a 30-minute round trip on foot to convenience stores and other places, so bear that in mind when booking. On a clear morning, the Oreum tour gives you a sunrise view and felt like a lovely start to an active Jeju trip. Breakfast was healthy, and there was some time to talk with the other guests. I also found the hammock in the front yard and the steady birdsong calming. There seemed to be quite a few people who'd put everything aside to stay in Jeju for a long time, sometimes in groups. That might make a stay of just one day feel a little disappointing. For me, it's a good place to read quietly and reflect.

The village head was so attentive, and I'm grateful for that. I stayed for two weeks and came back with lots of good memories: time in the big yard, walks on quiet paths, and looking up at the stars at night, even when it was cold. I've never spent this long at another guesthouse, so I can't compare, but I left feeling well rested and without regrets. I booked because the price was low, but I'd gladly return even if it cost more. Stay healthy! I'll upload a photo of the cute Oreum :)

The cozy bedding and the lovely Oreum tour made a great impression. Everything seemed clean and well cared for, and the family-like guesthouse atmosphere helped me relax. I'd like to come back and stay for a month next time.
