Jeju Starlight Glamping

The location takes a little effort to find, but that adds to the charm. Our two-person tent was surprisingly roomy, with its own bathroom, and they lent us a projector for free so we could watch movies in the room. The host was lovely and helpful. Such a fun, unusual stay, definitely recommend it.

We caught a lovely sunset while we were there, and had a really enjoyable barbecue night. We were short a few things for the barbecue, and the owner kindly helped us out with food. Since we arrived early in the rain, they even got the room cleaned quickly so we could check in. It was clean and looked just like the photos, and the owners were so kind and helpful. I’d happily stay again.

The hosts’ daughter was so welcoming and helpful, and we had a great stay. We booked two rooms. One toilet wouldn’t flush properly, and the shower in the other room had no hot water, but both rooms were comfortable and warm. It was quiet apart from planes passing overhead. The airport is around a 20-30 minute drive away, though the map can be a little confusing on car GPS. We also had to ask the hosts where to find the charging ports.

We had a really enjoyable barbecue outside our unit, and the owners were very friendly. We paid Mr Kelvin Park about 20000won to set things up with charcoal, and he pointed us to a nearby supermarket for meat, seafood and vegetables. Breakfast was included too, with a do-it-yourself spread at the reception house, and the rates were very reasonable. We booked both a tent and a caravan. The tent was much bigger inside than I expected, with a huge bed in the middle, a sofa, fridge, pantry, TV, racks, heater and air conditioning, plus lots of room to move around. There was also a large bathroom and toilet attached, and the heated floor kept it comfortable. We got gorgeous sunset views as well. The caravan was a memorable new experience for us city folks. It’s quite large, with beds at both ends, a sofa and kitchen pantry in the middle, and a toilet and bath in one corner. There’s a wooden table and bench outside for barbecuing. We’d worried the area might feel isolated, but there are houses nearby and an apartment block behind the glamping area. The view out front is still open, and it’s very quiet and peaceful. I’d recommend giving it a try.
