The location is great for getting around. Buses 316 and 365 go straight from the airport in about 20 minutes, and you can get off at Gweonkbuk village, then walk roughly five minutes. It’s also possible to walk to Jungang underground shopping, Chilsung shopping st, Tapdong center and the lighthouses. The buses to the airport can connect you to other places too, like Aewol and Seogwipo. Works well for solo travelers, couples, families or friends. The room and bathroom have been nicely renovated. The floor was pleasantly warm, but in winter the heated bed got much too hot overnight, and we couldn’t adjust it. The water pressure was okay, not too strong. The towels seemed more like hair and face towels than body towels, so the hotel might want to change them. Service was ordinary, nothing special, though sajangmin spoke basic English, which I appreciated.

Most people probably stay here because it’s close to the airport, especially for an early flight. Dongmun market and Chilsung street are nearby too. We didn’t see a reception at 1400 during our stay, and getting to the elevator meant climbing half a flight of stairs. It’s an older hotel with metal keys rather than NFC cards. The rooms feel like small apartments, with separate doors for the bathroom and bedroom. There’s floor heating and a hair dryer in the room.

The quiet neighborhood was the one good thing. The rest of my stay was bad, and I slept terribly. The minibar was so loud I couldn’t sleep, and the mattress was very old and worn, with what felt like holes in it. There was less than half a tube of toothpaste in the bathroom, and I couldn’t tell whether a previous guest had left it or the hotel had put it there. There was also used hard soap. Leaving somebody’s used soap in the bathroom is disgusting, especially during COVID, but even without that it’s gross. The bed was made like this every time, too. I could’ve done a better job. I’d hoped to save money in Jeju rather than pay $50 or more a night, and the photos looked okay, but the whole experience was disappointing.

The staff were kind and helpful, and they cleaned the room and changed the towels every day. I booked a standard double, and it had all the basic facilities I needed. The rooms are more than fine for a two- or three-day stay, even for couples. Highly recommended.

I booked last minute for the location, but I wouldn’t stay again. Korea should revisit how places can be named as hotels, because this felt like a converted love motel, mirrors at bed height and all. The breakfast put me off when I saw the “chef” sneeze into the bowl of noodles she was making. At night, guests seemed unaware of anyone else staying there. Most nights, doors along the floor were left open so friends could yell between rooms. Paying $3 more a night to stay a few doors down would be money well spent.
