Heungbuga Hanok Guesthouse

Small, but warm and convenient, and right in the middle of hanok village with nearly everything within walking distance. Ajusshi sajangnim was incredibly kind and helpful. He couldn't speak English and I couldn't speak Korean, but we still communicated really well. I'd highly recommend staying here at least one night in jeonju.

We paid 21,000 won per person over the March 1st holiday, so the cheap rate was what got me to book despite there not being many reviews. The owner was super friendly, and laid out a map at check-in with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. They went on about the makgeolli (rice wine) places, haha. We used the room to rest for an hour while out exploring, and the Hanok (traditional Korean house) is charming and right in a hot spot of the Hanok Village. It fit three people just right, not too small. The room was lovely and warm, actually too hot until I turned the temperature down. Hot water was plentiful, and there was a bidet. Breakfast wasn't included with our Agoda booking, though we went out for Jojeomnye Piseundae in the morning anyway. As with a Hanok, sound carries. We could hear the person next door snoring, lol.

It seems newly built, and was fairly clean and tidy. I'd heard the soundproofing wasn't great, but if everyone is mindful and behaves carefully, it doesn't get all that noisy. It's okay up to a point.

An American friend told me about the owners and their friendly staff. I was introduced to the place, and I'm very satisfied. The bedding was clean, too.
