There are lots of streets to wander around in this hanok village, and since it isn’t huge, most things, including the museum, are within walking distance. The streets were wide and well maintained, and I spotted public restrooms in some of the alleys. A few shops seem to close at the start of the week.

With its hundreds of beautiful hanok houses, Jeonju Hanok Village is a lovely place to see traditional Korean architecture and culture. There are small cafes, street food stalls and traditional shops among the houses, and walking through the streets feels like going back in time. It’s a nice area for photos and for trying local specialties such as Jeonju bibimbap. Parking is available nearby. It costs 1,000 KRW for the first 30 minutes, then 500 KRW for each additional 15 minutes. That comes to about 2,000 KRW per hour, with a daily maximum of 12,000 KRW. A relaxing day trip from Seoul. I enjoyed wandering past the different shops and restaurants, and I’d suggest trying one of the craft shops for something like pottery or jewelry making. A day or two is enough here. The people at the tourist center were friendly and helpful. And don’t forget to send a postcard by slow mail!
I enjoyed Jeonju Hanok Village even more than Kyoto. It’s a traditional neighborhood in Jeonju’s historic center, with more than 700 preserved hanok houses. You can wander the narrow alleys, sample food like bibimbap and take in traditional crafts and culture. There are plenty of light street food options and small attractions, which make it a nice date spot for young couples. Some scenes from the drama Tastefully Yours, starring Kang Ha-neul, were filmed here too.
The melenka cake, Greek yogurt and coffees were a perfect combination. Five stars for the setting and menu. There’s a cozy path through their gallery that gets you away from the walking crowds. A nice place for family time, a little chat or a date.
