My Stay

It was a very good stay.

Being close to the Hanok Village made it easy to get around until late at night. The owner was incredibly kind, and I was very comfortable there. Cleanliness matters most to me, and I was really pleased with how spotless the room and bathroom were, especially the bedding and towels.

It’s listed as a hotel, but this is actually a guesthouse. Facilities are poor, and the usual price seems to be around 80,000 won for three people. We booked by phone and this was our first visit. If I’d known what the place was like, I would have looked elsewhere. The bathroom is about half a pyeong. Once our luggage was down and two blankets were laid out for three of us, there was barely any room left to move. Right outside the room is the outdoors, and the only barrier is a sliding glass door. It was hard to tell whether the door was plastic or glass. The insulation isn’t good, so I’d avoid staying here in cold or rainy weather. Jeonju Hanok Village is just a few minutes away on foot. We stayed one night and left. A friend in another room was so uncomfortable that they went to a nearby jjimjilbang to wash and sleep. If you’re only staying one day and don’t have much luggage, I’d recommend a sauna instead. I’d suggest finding a more suitable place nearby and spending your time out. For this money, I think you could stay somewhere else.

The place was tidy and organized, and the host was kind. I knew cooking wasn’t allowed, so not having a stove didn’t bother me. But there was no sink, which was a shame. Even for small things like washing a glass or rinsing a fork after bread, I had to use the bathroom sink.
