Sol Beach Jindo

The scenery is beautiful, but this didn’t feel like what I’d expect from a four-star hotel. We ate outside after reading restaurant reviews, so I can’t comment on the food here. Check-in took a while, partly because the staff member handling it knew only basic English. We booked for three people but received just two coupons. The room had two tea bags, two coffees, and two bottles of water. Towels were small, and the furniture was basic, with fake drawers that left almost nowhere to put our things. There was a thick layer of dust on the cupboard’s top shelf. The beds were okay but noisy, as was the bathroom’s sliding door. Sound carried in from the corridor, and the curtains didn’t block the light, so bring a sleep mask or expect an early morning. If the sun doesn’t wake you, the corridor vacuuming at 5:30 might. The room also had no AC, so it could get hot. Pool access and even towels cost extra. WiFi was the only free thing, and it was awful.

A peaceful place to unwind in Jindo, with lovely coastal views. The drive along the shore is scenic, and the surrounding nature makes it easy to relax. Jindo is known for abalone, so fresh local seafood is another option during your stay.

I had a Standard Suite on the second floor of Building C, where both the bedroom and living room looked out onto the parking lot. With the curtains open, passersby could see right in, so there was almost no privacy. That was very disappointing. We were there for three nights and asked about moving rooms. They said we’d have to check out at 11 AM, wait outside until 3 PM, then check in again. There was no place to store our luggage during that gap, which was especially inconvenient for a longer stay. Management should rethink the room layout and the policy for guests staying several nights. Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend this room type.

The views are good, and there’s plenty here, including restaurants, food, a pool, and a sauna. It’s peaceful too, but, as usual, nothing seems to be included. This was my second Sol hotel and resort stay. I’d get a room with a kitchen and bring your own food, drinks, snacks, and entertainment.
