The ocean view from the room is lovely, and that's about the only thing going for this place. The room was freezing, the electric blanket was broken, and I couldn't reach the owner, so I had to go to the next room myself to get it changed. The facilities are run down, more like an old motel room than something I'd call VIP. Even the front door didn't close properly and stayed a little ajar. There was no one at the desk, although an elderly owner runs the place. I asked ahead for the room to be warmed up because I was traveling with kids, but the outdated heating took ages. My husband, the kids and I were all so cold. The location is great, and people would seek the place out if the facilities matched it. Owner, please put a little more into the place. It's a shame, really. The photo shows the ocean view right from the room.

The beach in front is peaceful, and it was nice watching the sunrise. On a clear summer day, though, the sun made it unbearably hot, and the wall mounted air conditioners in the rooms could only do so much.

The owner is so kind, even offering a ride to nearby Jukbyeon Port. Just be aware that taking a taxi from the motel means a combined fare. The morning ocean view from the window is wonderful too. The facilities could be better, but I'd give the stay 90% overall.

The rooftop view was fantastic, and you can hang laundry up there. I meant to try it early in the morning but slept in. Food at the nearby restaurants was decent too. A friend who lives in Uljin recommended Hwangtae Village; I like duck more than Hwangtae, so I went to Heuksiru instead. Well... that's down to personal taste, so it could suit you. I would've given this two stars, but the owner was so kind I added one. We didn't get an ocean view, so I can't say much about what was outside our window. At check-in he wasn't in the building, and we had to wait while he was out shopping. There were only two disposable toothbrushes, no towels, and I had to go fetch towels partway through my shower. There weren't even ashtrays, so it felt like the place wasn't ready for guests. Still, he looked after us so well, and his face and way of speaking were so warm that it eased some of the irritation. The rate was very affordable for peak season in Uljin, though the facilities weren't notably different from other places.

The view is nice and it's cheap, but taking a shower is rough. Switching on the bathroom light starts the exhaust fan, though it barely works any better than the air conditioner. Even in the morning I have to brace myself and shower.
