Muju Namubyul Pension

We stayed in the Ginkgo Tree Room, which was clean and spacious. There’s a foot volleyball court out front with balls available to rent, though you may want to bring your own ball that bounces well. The bedding wasn’t very clean. There’s also an indoor barbecue area. It can get quite smoky, but you can cover it with a lid, so if you can handle the smoke, it’s better than a typical pension barbecue.

The pool was a lot of fun for our family, as long as you’re not in a group of 8 or more. Adults can use the slide, and leaning forward makes it feel pretty fast and exciting. The owner looks after the water carefully, and it was clear and clean. We stayed one night at Neutinamu, and the place was spacious and looked just like the photos. The bed was neither especially firm nor very soft, while the duvet was incredibly soft and comfortable. It seems to face south, with sunlight coming in from morning through the day. I’d give the room comfort and amenities at least 5 stars, and I’m absolutely willing to come back.

The interior and exterior were very clean and attractive, perhaps because the place was recently remodeled. It’s at the entrance to Deogyusan National Park, so access is easy for hiking and for nearby ski resorts, about a 10-minute drive away. This is only my personal opinion, but I’d recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting Deogyusan or the ski resorts.

Our family gathering was in the group room, the Ddeokgalnamu Room. It was clean and well kept, with a well-stocked kitchen and enough space for ourselves. There were two bedrooms and a living room that felt like a playground, plus two separate bathrooms for men and women and plenty of mattresses and blankets. When we found the heating wasn’t working in one room, the owner let us use a couple’s room instead. We all had a great time and would definitely return.
