Namwon Bali

For 45,000 won on Friday, February 27th, I found a much larger place than the run-down motel I expected. It has 34 rooms and an elevator, plus a women-only sauna on the first floor. The rooms and bathrooms are nice, and the TVs are large with Netflix and YouTube. At the first-floor front desk there's a microwave, coffee maker, PC, and printer. A short walk away, there are places to get breakfast or dinner, including a bean sprout soup restaurant.

We called and were told a family room was available, so our group of ten, including me, went to see it while traveling around Imsil and Namwon. The room turned out to be spacious and nice. We spent one night there and had a great rest.

The ondol room stayed warm, and I slept well. The bathroom was spacious, which I liked. The room itself was a bit disappointing compared with the newer motels nearby, and there wasn't an massage chair or anything like that.

The card receipt calls it "Bathhouse Motel," and it's the building with the bathhouse. It feels like a motel, but accommodation in Namwon is expensive in general. This is a busy area, perhaps because of its proximity to the government. I've tried almost every place to stay in Namwon, and many have been disappointing for what they cost. There aren't many restaurants close by, and the parking lot is small. If you're not a confident driver, I'd avoid parking there. The neighboring nursing home is visible when you open the window, and the people there are recuperating, so I can't just open it whenever I want. It's very inconvenient.
