Vallas Hotel & Guest house

A small hotel, but a nice one. The owners were really helpful and friendly, and the room was clean with pretty interiors and good amenities. The food was okay too.

The bedding was fine, but the room had only a bedroom and bathroom, and the interior felt a bit worn. This might suit solo travelers or friends better than a family of three. I checked in on Saturday after being told breakfast was included, only to find there’s no breakfast service on weekends. I wish the booking site had made that clear. There are so many motels around that this place seems like a motel turned into a hostel. They charged an extra 20,000 won for a child, even though they usually don’t charge for children.

The room was in excellent condition, and the staff service was superb. Breakfast is mostly simple things like toast and cereal, but there’s enough of it to make the stay feel like good value. Restaurants and other amenities nearby are limited since the area is mostly accommodations. Still, it’s a great-value option near the Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal.

The staff are friendly, and the coffee from the cafeteria is delicious. The location is handy, and the bedding feels soft and crisp like hotel linens, so I wasn’t worried about bed cleanliness. They even provide disposable lotion and wax. Honestly, I liked it better than the 2-star hotel I stayed at in Seoul. I’d recommend it.
