Am Hotel

We had a comfortable room with a nice view, even of the ski slopes, and it was quiet. The room was beautifully clean, and they provided two large bath towels, which was welcome since many hotels give us just one despite there being two adults. Breakfast was superb, with something for everyone. Parking was easy, and the attendant went out of his way to help even though our Korean is extremely limited. My only suggestion is to put some coffee in the room. There’s an electric kettle and mugs, but no coffee.

We booked a Deluxe Double Room at AM Hotel and got a beautiful view from the 15th floor. The staff speak English and are ready to help, and you’ll find a convenience store, a Korean BBQ restaurant, and a Papa John's on the ground floor. You can get to the eMart without going outside. There’s also a supermarket about 600 meters away if you plan to cook, and the refrigerator is plenty big, even for big eaters. The room has a washing machine, but no laundry detergent is provided. Cooking utensils and dishware cost 20k won to access, which didn’t surprise us given the room price. Cleanliness was 9.5/10 for us, with a tiny bit of mold in a shower corner and some dust on a few drawers and windows. Great value for money.

The only reason I gave service three stars was that one employee responded appropriately. This was the worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed in, and it made me promise myself I’d never stay somewhere cheap again.

The room was clean, and both the reception staff and the restaurants at and near the hotel were good. It had a washing machine, electric stove, microwave, fridge, and basic cookware. The temperature got quite hot, but opening the windows let in cold fresh air. The location was fabulous for getting to Yongpyong ski resort by free bus: about a 10-minute walk to the roundabout, or five minutes to a closer bus stop just behind the hotel.
