Hotel joy is a little tucked away in a quiet spot, but it’s not far from the busier little center by the pedestrian gate if Camp Humphreys. I spent several weeks there and found the rooms spacious and very clean. My room had a small kitchen, a large American fridge, and a washing machine, which was really handy. They cleaned the room and made the bed daily, and also restocked water, coke, and coffee for free each day. The couple who run the hotel are very sweet and clearly put their heart and soul into it. Thanks for the stay. Gamsamnida & cu next time.

It’s quiet, clean, inexpensive, and close to the base. My room was spotless. Hotel Joy isn’t fancy, but it doesn’t pretend to be, and it’s a great choice if you’re in the area.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years. Getting through the narrow alleys can be tricky in a large US spec vehicle, especially when non-guests are blocking them. The staff are very kind, speak great English, and provide a limited amount of free water, Pepsi, and coffee. It’s quiet, the elevator is fast, and room service is daily except Sundays. On Sundays, you can still ask downstairs for water and fresh towels if you want them.

It was my first trip to Korea, and I’d stay here again. The management were extremely polite, the room was very clean, and the hotel is only a few blocks from the Humphrey walk in gate.

It’s around a five-minute walk to Camp Humphrey’s, with lots of food nearby and several bus stations. The owners are incredibly generous and friendly, and I felt safe in the quiet hotel. Hotel Joy is a sweet hidden gem. I’ll come back whenever I’m in the area, and I’m going to miss those heated floors!
