The owners were generous and lovely. I came in early September for my husband’s work and am only getting around to writing this now. I’d recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Hongcheon. The view is open and beautiful, and I especially liked how clean the accommodation was. It wasn’t damp or humid at all, unlike some pensions that smell musty when they aren’t used every day. There’s plenty to do in the evening, with a billiards room, table tennis room, karaoke, and tea room. It’s peaceful in the mountains, with a lovely view over the Hongcheon River and Palbongsan Mountain. The Palbongsan parking lot is just 1km away, making a mountain visit convenient. I think it would be even nicer when the leaves turn in fall.

It’s nice that dogs are allowed, and there’s a billiards hall and table tennis hall for them to play in. But there’s a cliff-like section that makes it dangerous for dogs to play. Navigation also had a hard time finding the pension. Since it’s in the mountains, phone calls don’t come through well. I wouldn’t recommend it to people with rhinitis. I’m not sure if it was the blanket or dust, but my nose kept running.

The owners, husband and wife, are wonderful. Everything is so still and peaceful, with nothing around. I love the smell of the grass and the different scents from all the flowers. I’m just going to quietly unwind in the mountains.

The private outdoor barbecue was great, and the mountain setting gives the place a nice feel. The owner was friendly, though the cleanliness of the interior and bedding let me down.
