Hotel Bareve

I’m staying somewhere else now because Bareve had no rooms, and the contrast has made me appreciate it even more. The front desk staff at this pricier hotel near the ocean have been unkind, and I’ve felt looked down on. If I could cancel without a fee, I’d go back to Bareve. I’d rather spend my time and money there. After experiencing such poor hospitality elsewhere, Bareve feels like a real blessing to travelers. At Bareve, everyone was courteous and professional. Each time I went to the front desk, someone helped right away. The room was clean and full of sunlight when I arrived, with no unpleasant smell. You can tell the building is older, but it’s very well maintained. I also liked staying in a Korean-style Ondol room.

I moved to another hotel because this one felt a little dated compared with nearby places in the same price range. The front desk service, though, was truly five-star. Han Aeri was especially helpful.

The king-size bed and pillows were the best part of the room. Staff were great and friendly, a full 5/5 for them, but the price felt too high for what you get. The bathroom was old and worn, with grime and dated shower heads. Even the one at my house is better. The bidet toilet seat had faded spots from wear. And no toothbrush was provided, which seems odd for a hotel. None of the rooms have baths.

The location is good, and there’s an open-air parking lot. The hotel itself felt run down, though. There’s no bathtub, and every facility costs extra. For a place calling itself four stars, I expected more than just a bed, toilet, and shower head. It’s not a good fit for budget travelers.
