Bomulseom Pension

The lack of service completely spoiled our impression. We accidentally left the key inside the room one evening and couldn’t get back in until morning. There was no staff at the hotel, and nobody answered any of the bells or phone numbers we tried. Since the doors use combination locks, simply giving us the code would have let us in, but no one responded to our calls. We ended up spending the night outside without a bed. Completely unacceptable.

The rooms are spacious and the facilities are clean, with a good location. Contactless check-in and check-out are convenient, though it also means there’s no one to ask questions. The bathroom layout is odd too. When you shower, you’re squeezed between the sink and toilet.

You can walk straight to Seongsan Ilchulbong from here. The pension is affordable, and our room had a balcony with a small kitchen and an ocean view. The cooking facilities were well equipped, and the TV was quite large.

The location near the sunrise peak, the partial sea view, and the spacious parking were the reasons I gave it two stars. The shower is over the toilet, and the water swung between cold and extremely hot. The bed was so springy it felt like a trampoline, and the huge pillow made it hard to keep my head on it. The entrance light didn’t work, so we put our shoes on in the dark. There were only two hangers and none in the toilet, and the quilt had no cover. If you’re worried about being cold, the ondol is very hot, enough that we had to open the balcony door for air. I won’t go back.
