Donnaeko Private Pool Villa

The owner was very friendly and the prices were reasonable, and the quiet location away from downtown suited my plan to stay before going to Hallasan the next day. But there are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby, so bring what you need ahead of time. The cleanliness really let me down: the floor was stained, the blanket and bedding felt damp, and the towels smelled like they belonged to a widower. The damp bedding was the biggest disappointment.

The soundproofing is the main downside; you can hear through the walls. Still, this pension was comfortable and generally clean, even if the interior isn't especially stylish. I stayed here before hiking Mt. Halla, and the mountain is close, making transport convenient. You can even see the summit from the pension. The owner was friendly, and for the price it's great value. I'd stay again if I visit Mt. Halla.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and I was happy with the facilities after my one-night stay. There’s a pool with a kids’ play area and rocking chairs. It’s a little removed from downtown and the sea, though. Being near Hallasan Mountain means it’s quiet, with almost no traffic beyond people heading to the pension. Honestly, that calm was kind of nice, lol.

A nice quiet place to unwind. The kitchen in the room is roomy, and the barbecue area makes getting a cookout ready easy. Just remember to bring water, since they don’t provide bottled water.
