The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby. The bathroom and sheets were clean, and there were four parking spots. The owner was upbeat, and their golden retriever was a delight. The price was so affordable I could hardly believe it. A great find.
Limbo was really friendly, and our room had lovely views, with mountains on one side and the beach on the other. There was a kitchen in our room, or one downstairs. Breakfast was free, though you had to make it yourself, which seems to be the thing in S. Korea. It's also a great spot for thru-hiking the Jeju Olle. Highly recommend.
I met lots of other backpackers here, and most nights there was a bonfire going. On my last evening, we shared dinner, then wine and conversation until 11. It was a great stay and very affordable. Limbo, the host, had only started the hostel about three months earlier, I believe. He was quick to reply by email, helped me find several things around Jeju, and even lent me his bike for free. The kitchen had a fridge with eggs, toast, and other breakfast food, plus a pot of coffee ready in the morning. Laundry was free, though we had to hang our clothes up to dry. I've stayed in quite a few hostels, and this was my best experience. The sheets were clean and nicely made, and the dorm rooms had their own bathrooms with the toiletries you need, even toothpaste. The outlets also had USB ports.
Limbo was a really friendly host. We were cycling around Jeju, and this place worked perfectly for us. The private room was spacious and very nice, probably the best value we found on our South Korea trip. We also appreciated the free breakfast of toast, eggs, and coffee. A really fantastic hostel.
Ttottot is peaceful compared with Jeju City, and getting around the island without a car worked fine for me. Buses are okay but come somewhat infrequently, so check the timetable. It's a five-minute walk to Sagye beach, two minutes to a convenience store, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. This is my favorite hostel in South Korea. Limbo, the owner, is incredibly kind and happy to help, and I met wonderful people from all kinds of countries. My favorite spot was the outdoor terrace with hammocks and lounge chairs. There's also a separate outdoor communal cabin with bean bags, a projector for movies, outlets, and air conditioning. The dorms were quite nice, with comfortable beds, outlets, and wifi. There's a kitchen, free breakfast with eggs, toast, and coffee, and free laundry. Highly recommend, you won't regret it!
