Shinshin Hotel Jeju Ocean

The location was pretty good, and having a 7-11 on the first floor was handy. Our room was spacious with a partial sea view, but it was dirty and the sheets had stains. We requested housekeeping for one day and nobody came. Service was frustrating. We had to ask for things more than once, and when I checked in for the two rooms I'd booked, they said I had three. It took a long time to sort that out. We stayed 4D3N, and I hope things improve.

The room was large, with a washing machine, and had a studio apartment feel. The location is on the opposite side of the island from the airport, so getting there takes over an hour by express bus.

We booked two nights but left for another hotel because the place felt so unsanitary. The bed sheets stank, the slippers were damaged, and the room smelled of cigarettes. Poor ventilation or plumbing in the toilet made that area smell even worse than a public restroom. I asked for help or a room change, but little was done to fix anything.

Our suite was very spacious, and for the price we paid the value seemed fair. The building is old and needs renovation, though, and the cleaning wasn't thorough: we found an eyeliner under the couch. There was a sink, fridge with freezer, and washing machine in the room. A microwave was at the front desk, and a 711 is right beside the building. Breakfast was okay, with rice, soup, Korean ban chan, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread, and coffee. Instant coffee and tea were provided, but we had to ask for cups.
