Yangpyeong Pensionapple Pension

We had a really enjoyable stay. There were a few small things that bothered me, and the pension felt a bit disorganized since the owner had been going through a difficult time. But the owner's dedication to service more than made up for that. It was peaceful, we could relax without worrying about the surroundings, and the cafe meant we could get coffee without going far.

The bedding was clean and had no smell, though I did find trash under the bed while picking something up, so housekeeping could use more attention. The jet spa seemed less carefully maintained: the water was fine when first filled, but using the bubbles made it a little dirty and left a slight odor. With the massage function, I wondered if it hadn't been cleaned since the last guest or if stagnant water had come through. The owner also runs a cafe, which is convenient for tea or a meal, but guest requests took longer when the cafe got busy. There are some good practical points too. The hot water worked well, there were plenty of dishes, and the door locks meant we didn't have to carry a key. Parking was fairly spacious. For the price, it seems like good value considering there's a jet spa. The nearby valley is only about halfway up an adult's shin, and though the river is a bit far, the shallow water seems great for families with kids on warm days.

It was cold at night even in May because the temperature dropped a lot after daytime, and there was no heating. The facilities were really dated: the doorknob was broken, the shower barely worked, and some bulbs were out. The price was too high for what was offered, and the amenities were awful. I wouldn't stay at this pension again.

I come here with friends every summer, but this was one of the worst places I've stayed. I only had the website pictures to go by before arriving, and they left me disappointed. The stream out front hardly had enough water to get my hand in, and the pool was just a little portable one. I don't think I'll come back.
