Harmony Hotel

The room was easily one of the best I've stayed in in Korea. It's old but spacious, and the amenities had more attention to detail than at newer hotels. My room's comfort made up for the location being a bit far from central gangnam. Service wasn't great, and they kick you out right when checkout time hits, though I think that's common at most hotels.

It took me a while to get used to the amenities as an American, but once I did, the hotel felt really nice and comfortable.

There was way more included than I expected, and the rooms were very clean. The manager is friendly and tries hard to please everyone, so I'll stay here again. The bathroom is big, the hot water is great, and you get free water and soft drinks. The in-room facilities are great too, including the LG u+ TV, where you can surf the web, watch YouTube and access lots of good TV channels. Sound insulation between rooms isn't great, though it was mostly quiet, and the double window kept outside noise well isolated. I can't complain, and I wouldn't compare it to a 5 star hotel. The area has pretty much anything you need nearby: a hair salon, an inexpensive laundry shop, convenience store, lots of local restaurants, Burger king a block away, domino's pizza 500 feet away, sushi at the CGV homeplus mall, and McDonald's almost 1 km away. Most of them offer delivery. There's also a small mall with nearly everything you need, and Hyundai department store is only 1.5 km away, or five minutes by metro. At the Korean style market you can get fruit, vegetables, and tons of baked goods. Gildong exit 1 is 25 meters away, making it convenient to get around the city. The airport bus is quicker to get here than to many other places and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Bus number 6300 and 6300-1 cost 14,000 won. For Samsung engineering, a taxi takes about 10 minutes and costs around 6000 won. Bus 2312 takes about 15 minutes, costs 1200 won, and drops you right at the building. The train takes 5 minutes and costs 1250 won, but you'll need to walk about 15 minutes from sangil dong station to Samsung's building.

A handy place to sleep while you're out exploring, with a tube station nearby for getting around. The staff were very helpful.
