PyungWhaJang Motel

Only useful if you're catching an early flight. The rooms are very old.

There's free Wi-Fi, a fridge, TV, shower, toilet, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. They provide two bottles of mineral water, and replace the bath towels and regular towels during your stay. Bring your own disposable slippers. The motel is very quiet at night, though the fridge motor was noisy enough that I used earplugs. It was tolerable. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby make it easy to find food. It's about a three-minute walk from Exit 4 at Airport Market Station on Line 9. This is a motel for somewhere to sleep, not much more, but the low price includes hot showers (lol). It has a retro, Showa-era feel, like something in Japan. If you're a germaphobe, this probably isn't the place for you. I was barely in the room, so it suited me fine for sleeping. The front desk is darker than it appears in the photos, a little spooky (lol).

The warm ondol room helped me sleep soundly, and I'd like to come back. The location is fantastic, with plenty of bars, food stalls, and restaurants locals go to within an easy walk. It was about a 10-minute walk from Gimpo Airport, though the entrance was hard to find and took some effort. There were two sets of futons. The bathroom was spacious enough to hang laundry, but the stainless steel bathtub had no stopper. I used a plastic one, so it wasn't an issue. The curtains wouldn't open, so I hung them up with a hanger from the room. Thank you.

For about the price of a city capsule hotel, you get a small place with what you need: electric blankets, a kettle, TV, private bathroom, and charging cables. The building looks old, but the facilities feel warm and cozy. The location is good and the price is cheap. It works for travelers catching a flight who aren't too concerned about quality.
