Sunrise Inn

The room and restroom were in really bad condition. I saw mould everywhere, especially in the restroom, and the sink drain was broken. The windows were very dirty, with lots of dust and mould, and the photos didn’t match the place in real life. It was sometimes too cold and sometimes too hot, and I could easily find foreign stuff, like someone else’s hair, on clean towels. I stayed four days. The price was really cheap compared with other hotels or motels, the staff were kind enough, and it’s in a really good position for sightseeing. For those reasons, I’d recommend it if you’re travelling alone or taking a short trip in Seoul.

The rooms are small and the place itself is small, but it works. We had a TV and private bathroom, and you can get toilet paper and towels yourself from the communal area without asking. The shared kitchen is a nice place to meet other travellers, and everyone was respectful and nice. Staff are friendly, helpful, and speak good English. Staying there felt like home, and when I had a personal problem unrelated to the place, they helped me so much. Thank you! :)

We stayed about 5days and had a nice experience. It’s clean and tidy, the service is nice, and the price isn’t expensive. You can cook in the kitchen with the stove and microwave, and there’s free water. There’s also a guitar and laptop you can use. It’s a 5-minute walk from Sinseol-dong station and about 10-15 minutes on foot from Dongdaemun Gate. Plenty of restaurants and minimarkets are nearby, so you won’t need to worry about finding food.

It’s very cheap but comfortable, and works well for backpackers. With a price this low, don’t expect five-star room service, and they won’t clean your room every day. The service is very good, and the many Malay staff are friendly and speak English, Korean, and Malay well. It’s very near Sinseoldong subway station and Dongmyo bus station, so commuting is easy. If you’re too lazy to change subway lines, you might prefer a central station like seoul station, but it’ll cost more.
