Lotte Resort Sokcho

Our family of four stayed for 2/3, and found well made trails around the building with spectacular views. One leads directly to Sokcho public beach, and another goes to the fishing town. The resort is a good fit for water activities and exploring locally. Guests can use the infinity pool for free, although finding it was oddly difficult and we got there through the water park. Towels and beach chairs cost extra. The rooms are huge and have a kitchen with cookware, but no microwave. On our last day we realized there was no need to call a taxi to the express bus terminal, since you can walk along the public beach for about 15-20 minutes. The large bathroom only had small towels, and everyone checks in together at 3 pm.

This is probably among the best hotels around Sokcho. We’ve stayed twice, and my daughter loves sleeping in the Lotty and Lorry room. The water park is much better in summer than winter. We’ll be back soon.

For the price, this felt like a two star stay. Even the kids’ playground costs extra, and it seems there’s a charge for everything. Towels aren’t provided free, the pillows are flat as pancakes, and we got only one. Our self contained condo had four mugs but no drinking glasses. We checked ourselves in and out, and although we arrived early, they wouldn’t keep our bags while we waited for check-in.

The sea air was so fresh, and the hotel grounds were beautifully kept. I was struck by how clean and scenic everything was, and the room felt luxurious. Even the terrace was spotless, not a speck of dust. The staff were friendly, everything was convenient, and I liked it so much I wanted to live there.
