The Class 300 Hotel and Condominium

The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep. The amenities matched what I expected for the price, so the physical space itself was an ordinary, okay experience. The staff's manner spoiled it. From check-in on, I felt like an inconvenience. The front desk was cold and unresponsive, and even a simple request was hard to get help with. There were no smiles or offers of assistance, just indifference. A little effort from the team could have made this a positive stay.

The Wi-Fi worked well, even outside the hotel, but there wasn't much on TV for tourists. Korean shows and dramas had no English subtitles. On the 15th floor, the dining room was spacious, with plenty of tables and chairs and a buffet with lots of choices. You could choose what you wanted and go back for more, though there was only one officer on duty. Rooms on the 10th floor and higher have a beautiful Sokcho Beach view through the windows, and the beach is just a few minutes away on foot. The room has central air conditioning, but you can adjust the temperature down to 17 degrees Celsius. It was spacious, with two single-seat sofas, a small table, a long desk with one chair, and a large wardrobe. The mattress wasn't soft and didn't seem to follow the body's curves. The outlets on both sides of the bed were quite far away. The bathroom was big, with the shower and bathtub set far apart. Its floor gets slippery even with a little water, so watch your step. Toiletries were limited to two bath towels, two washcloths, a hair dryer, soap gel and shampoo gel. There was no toothpaste, toothbrush, tumbler glass or shower cap, and only one pair of sandals. They also provided just one access card for a room with two people, though you didn't need a card to use the elevator.

I slept like a baby in the enormous, clean, neat and comfy room. The hotel is close to attractions, whether you’re heading to Mount Seorak or Sokcho Beach. The food seemed really nice, though I skipped breakfast, so I can’t say much about it. Recommended if you’re visiting Gangwon-do district.

The hotel has two buildings. I stayed in the second one last week, in an apartment-style room, and had to walk about 70-100m to get there. The room was clean and big enough. There was a warmer on the floor, and a convenience store in the lobby building that stays open 24 hours.
