Hotel Gite

The view was a highlight, with rice fields and mountains in the distance since the hotel sits at the edge of the city. There are lots of restaurants close by, easy access to main roads and the highway, and the wetlands and bay are nearby. We stayed several nights in the large suite with a balcony, about 1200 SQ ft, and enjoyed it. It was spacious, with a huge balcony and wall of windows, an apartment-sized refrigerator, microwave, heated floors throughout, his and hers rain showers, and his and hers bidet toilets. They reserved a parking spot for us at no extra cost. We also asked to check out at 12pm instead of 11am, an hour later, and they allowed it at no extra charge because the room wasn't occupied that night. The main downside was the heating and cooling. The front desk controlled the heat and cool settings, and would turn the heated floors on or off when asked. The two overhead A/C units were also desk-controlled, so we couldn't operate them ourselves. With high yellow dust and air pollution outside, we couldn't open the balcony door, and the room got hot and stuffy. We could at least use a button on the light controller to vent it. The air filtration was excellent, though, and we never noticed dust or bad air inside. Breakfast was simple, and I think what they offer changes between busy and slow seasons. When we went, it was toast with butter and strawberry jelly, two kinds of dry cereal with milk, two kinds of cup soup ramen, hot or not hot, coffee, espresso, tea bags, and cabbage salad. We only went once and were disappointed. Since breakfast was included in the room cost, and we'd paid in advance, we ended up paying more for a night than the going rate when we checked in. That had never happened to us before. Would we recommend it? Yes!

We only stayed one night, but it was a great stay. The room was large and clean, and the balcony had a great view. The area is good for finding food and karaoke.

The bathrooms and showers are really nice, and the place feels clean and modern. Rooms range from just okay to very nice, and the staff at the front desk usually speak English, so communication was easy. Breakfast was so-so by Western standards, though it seemed typical for a Korean hotel. I didn’t care for the pillows. One thing that bothered me was needing the room key to keep the power on. In summer, the air conditioning shuts off while you’re out, so the room gets warm and uncomfortable by the time you return.

The staff were polite and so friendly, and the place was very clean. I had a great two-night stay and loved the view over the fields. I’d happily recommend it.
