The service was fantastic. They let me leave my bags there on the afternoon I checked out, and my bike tour around the underrated Bay area became one of the highlights of my holiday. I stayed in June. It’s a refitted motel at a slightly higher price, but the nicer feel made it worth it overall. Breakfast was limited. I’m usually picky about breakfast, though, and found that tricky everywhere in Korea.

We’d stay here again, just without paying extra for the river view room. It’s clean, comfortable, and felt safe. The room was quiet, with a soft bed, firm but plush pillows, and great shower pressure. At night, the upgrade didn’t seem worthwhile: the reflective windows made the view hard to see and were a bit dizzying, like a funfair trick mirror. The view was much better in the daytime, but I’m not sure it’s worth the extra $20. The staff were friendly, though I don’t think they speak English. My Korean husband handled check-in. There’s a small closet-like “handler” in the room, apparently some kind of standing laundry machine. The instructions were all in Korean, but my husband put a few things in and they came out feeling a bit fresher. The room had a mini fridge with bottled water, a desktop PC, hair dryer, basic toiletries and then some, a large TV, and a kettle with tea bag coffee (skip it) and green tea (nice). It also had two bathrobes and condoms, which could make water balloons. The free drink vending machine in the lobby may only be available on special occasions. We were there during Chuseok. Parking could be a problem depending on arrival time, though there’s extra parking on the street and perhaps in a nearby church lot. Breakfast costs extra and seemed to be the usual prepackaged cake slices, hamburger, cup soup, and similar items. For evening food or drinks, there’s a nice-looking brewery next door. The river park is a short, lovely walk away, day or night. It felt safe and well-lit after dark, and you can rent bicycles there.

The staff were extremely friendly and answered all our questions. The location is pretty good too, within easy walking distance of the busy areas, though the hotel itself isn’t in the busiest spot. The rooms are well equipped, with bath towels, smaller hand towels, two bathrobes, a mini fridge with two bottles of water replenished whenever the room is made, a smart TV with Netflix, air inverter, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and daily care items with a moisturizing package. There’s no iron. The bed was the one real drawback for us. The mattress is very firm and had us tossing and turning. Breakfast isn’t anything special, but the baked goods are quite good. There’s fruit, cup noodles, and two Nespresso virtuo machines too, if that’s your kind of coffee. A couple of useful things we figured out: the wall Aircon panel doesn’t do anything, so use the remote in the room, with the controls at the bottom. To open the window, press the button on the lower half of the screen handle; the screen rolls up by itself, then you can open or close the window. Divine Hotel was the best place we stayed in S.Korea. The Suncheon brewery/crane burgers on the same street was a highlight of Suncheon for me. It’s run by a team of coffee roasters and craft brewers. The coffee and beer were amazing, and the burgers and fries were outstanding. Great vibes.

Not Divine anymore, just hounding! The breakfast was good, though. I banged my leg on the bed frame and had a bruise for a week.

The room was comfortable and very clean, and the view was amazing. I’m grateful to the staff for making me feel at home. If I get the chance to come back, I’d choose this place again. 😊
