Orsay Business Hotel

The location is good, which made this stay even more disappointing. I came because the reviews were positive, but I wouldn't return. I know the price was low, but cleaning the bed, pillows, and floor hair should be a basic part of running a place people sleep in. I stayed four days. The room was dim enough to strain my eyes, and the bathroom lighting was so poor I could barely see. The shower pressure swung between barely coming out and feeling strong enough to tear my skin. The air conditioner was dusty and musty, and its remote was combined with the TV remote, so I couldn't check the temperature. The non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarettes. Opening the window for three days didn't clear it. There was also water leaking from the bathroom by the left side of the hallway entrance, leaving a puddle and a foul sewer smell. Hair from the previous guest was on the floor when I checked in, and there was hair in the sheets that kept me from sleeping properly. Trash was packed into the crevices behind the bed, as if they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The floor was very dirty, and there were no slippers. I assumed the room would be cleaned during my three-night stay, but it wasn't. The hair on the floor stayed there, and by the third day the room and bathroom bins were overflowing. Towels were replenished on the first day, but not after that. When I asked the front desk, they gave me torn towels instead. I hope they improve things.

The staff were friendly, and there were plenty of welcome drinks and amenities. I was in town for a soccer match at Suwon World Cup Stadium, and the location worked well: about a 10-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station, with lots of convenience stores and a good 24-hour noodle place nearby. The room and bathroom were clean, though there was a slight sharp smell, a bit like cigarette smoke. I also heard a thumping sound, maybe from upstairs, but I was so tired that I slept fine. The towels and nightgowns had a few small stains, but they felt fresh and didn't smell, so that was okay.

I come here often on business trips because the owner and staff are so kind. They even give you a lift for short distances. There are newer renovated places nearby, but this one is more convenient for me. It's clean and friendly. Breakfast has bread as well as Korean food. I usually go for the home-style Korean side dishes.

The room quality is ridiculous. It feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel, and you can hear people moaning in the next room. The bathroom door won't close, the drain doesn't work, and the facilities are old and messy. They started renovations in the room next door while guests were staying, without warning or even an apology. I had already checked in, yet they demanded extra fees and blamed a new employee's mistake. The whole experience was unacceptable.
