Kumho Tongyeong Marina Resort

The location was perfect, and the rooms were very clean. My wife enjoyed walking along the seaside path, and I had fun fishing. The parking lot was a little far from the resort hotel, though, and I had to drive to eat at a restaurant outside the property. The elevator setup was inconvenient too: two elevators serve the lower floors and two the higher floors, so using the wrong one was frustrating.

I was satisfied with the stay. There’s a walkway behind the resort, with a small beach along the trail, and bicycles are available to rent through the resort. The scenery is nice, and the cool breeze kept it from feeling too hot. The rooms were generally neat, though parking was a little limited.

The staff were polite, and the place was clean. Sitting with the fishing boats and waves around was relaxing, and the pier location is great, with lots of seafood restaurants not too far away. The sunrise view is amazing, but a seaside room costs an extra 25,000KRW/ night. It’s a very old, vintage motel, with heavy stains on the sofa and walls. There’s no hotel parking, so you have to go quite far. Bring your own bath towel and toothbrush kit, because neither is provided. It also gets so hot that you need to open the window at night to sleep.

We booked two of the biggest rooms for my grandma’s 80’s birthday, but they were still uncleaned when we arrived at 3.30. We had arrived at 1pm and spent an hour yacht riding. The hotel check out is 3pm, yet the front desk said we’d have to wait 1 hour and 30 mins because they had so many guests and some people had checked out late the night before. The room door was open, and the woman at the front desk didn’t apologize or offer anything beyond telling us to wait. There were only 4 small towels for our group of 10, and it seemed they didn’t check how many guests were staying. Also, bring your own shampoo, body shampoo, toothpaste, and so on. All they had prepared was a small roll of toilet paper. I don’t recommend staying here. Please don’t.
