Kumho Tongyeong Marina Resort

The location was perfect. I enjoyed fishing, and my wife loved walking along the seaside path. The rooms were very clean, though the elevator setup was inconvenient: two elevators for the lower floors and two for the upper floors, and it was a hassle if you used the wrong one. The parking lot was a little way from the resort hotel. We had to drive to eat at restaurants outside.

The rooms were generally neat, and the cool breeze kept it from getting too hot. There’s a walkway behind the resort, with a small beach along it, and the resort offers bicycle rentals so you can ride the trail. The scenery is nice. Parking is a bit limited, but I was satisfied overall.

The staff were polite and friendly, and the place was clean. I liked relaxing by the fishing boats and waves, and the location by the pier is great, with lots of seafood restaurants not too far away. The sunrise view is amazing, but a seaside room costs an extra 25,000KRW per night. It’s a very old, vintage motel, and there’s no parking at the hotel, so you have to go quite far. There were no bath towels or toothbrush kit, so bring your own. It was also extremely dirty, with heavy stains on the sofa and walls, and too hot to sleep without opening the window at night.

We had just four small towels for ten people, and they didn’t seem to check how many guests were staying. Bring your own shampoo, body shampoo, toothpaste, and other toiletries. They had nothing ready except a small roll of toilet paper. My family had booked two of the biggest rooms for my grandma’s 80th birthday. We arrived at 1pm, went yacht riding for an hour, and came back at 3.30, although checkout was at 3pm. The room doors were open and the rooms hadn’t been cleaned. When I called the front desk, the woman said we’d have to wait an hour and a half because they had many guests and some people from the previous night had checked out late. We had to wait because of those guests, and she didn’t apologize, just told us to wait. I don’t recommend staying here.
