Brown-Dot Tongyeong

I usually stay at Brown Dot Hotel when I visit Andong, Masan, and other places, so this time was a letdown. I left my toiletries at home on purpose, expecting them at Brown Dot, but ended up having to buy them. The room, especially the floor, wasn't clean, and the hallway was constantly cluttered with towels and water bottles. Breakfast was supposed to run until 9, yet they started clearing it at 8:30, which was frustrating. The website and elevator both said checkout was at 12, but I got a call at 10:50 telling me to leave. No explanation either. ㅜ.ㅠ

You can fix your own fried eggs and toast on the rooftop terrace for breakfast. The place is easy to get around from, close to the overpass toward Dipirang and only about a three-minute walk from Tongyeong Central Market. The staff weren't kind, though.

Parking is in an old tower lot, and it seems suitable for small passenger cars. Check with them about parking before you book. I do plan to stay again. The room was clean, and having two single beds made it comfortable even though I like ondol. The bathroom was clean too. Hot water took a little figuring out at first, then worked fine. Breakfast meant making my own fried egg and toast, with milk and juice in the fridge. It could get crowded with many guests, so having eggs ready would save time during busy periods. There's a Han River Ramen machine, but I couldn't find any ramen for it.

They offer valet parking, which made things easy, and there's a basic breakfast at no extra charge.
