Tongyeong Marie Joa Pension

It feels like a new villa, and the facilities are fairly clean because it's new. The cleaning could have been better, though maybe I'm just fussy. I can see the ocean, but as someone from Busan, the view doesn't mean much to me. They do provide towels, soap, toothpaste, and shampoo.

The location works well as a base, roughly halfway to most places, and Top Mart is the closest supermarket, about five minutes away. The in-room information and amenities felt pretty uninspired.

Room 202 had a clear ocean view from the spa, and downtown was close with plenty of delivery choices. But the cleaning was poor: the spa hadn't been cleaned, the dishcloths and sponges were dirty, there was hair on the blankets, and lots of it in the refrigerator. The barbecue area smell drifted up so badly that I couldn't open the bathroom window. After checkout the staff kept me waiting while they inspected the room, then didn't even say there were no problems and I could go. I won't come back.

The ocean view was amazing, and the location made it easy to get to Tongyeong's tourist spots. The building seems modern and was very clean, with bedding that smelled of fabric softener. The owners were really nice too. I'd definitely stay again if I get the chance to visit Tongyeong.
