I’d book a room with a private spa bath. The tub is very roomy and private, and you can open the retractable ceiling awning for a soak outdoors. The facilities are old but have been renovated beautifully, and the water quality is outstanding. As I understand it, this is the only place in Korea where hot spring water flows naturally, unlike Suanbo Oncheon, which pipes its water in.

The room was basic, but I enjoyed soaking in the tub with mountain spring water. I stayed one night, and having a convenience store nearby was handy. They even had my favorite, Dunkin' Donuts.

We arrived without a reservation, and the English-speaking staff were very accommodating. The hot springs spa felt luxurious and relaxing. Our traditional Korean family room was small, but had everything we wanted and more. We also enjoyed the beautiful area and the delicious on-site restaurant. We had a lovely stay.

It was very clean and quiet, and I liked the neighbourhood. The listing on agoda didn’t mention that this was technically a love motel, and even the taxi driver thought the place looked dodgy when I arrived. If you just need somewhere clean in Daegu Town, consider it. Buses stop at the door, and the skyrail is close by.

The place was clean and well maintained. It was crowded when I visited, but there was enough room that it didn’t feel uncomfortable. If you’re new to the public bathing and shower culture, I’d suggest going with someone familiar with it the first time.
