Breakfast was average at best, and it was frustrating to find nobody at reception when I went to report the problems. In room 1109, the bathroom smelled bad, so I had to keep its door shut. The air conditioning barely worked: even set to high at 19°C, the room stayed at 29°C. At night, outside was actually cooler than the room. I was there for two nights and had turned on the “Do Not Disturb” light because I didn’t need housekeeping. They came in anyway and, worse, took the power card out of the slot, which shut the AC off completely in 36°C weather. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, even for one night, especially in summer.

The noise was hard to ignore. Even from the 20th floor or higher, traffic from the intersection could be heard, and conversations from next door were sometimes understandable. Anyone sensitive to sound may find that challenging. It could be a budget-friendly choice if all you need is a bed and breakfast. There’s no front desk staff, and room assignments, passwords, and locker numbers are sent by text or through apps like KakaoTalk. I’m concerned about how problems that come up during a stay would be handled.

We had three guests in an affordable family room and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is an easy walk from the busy New Downtown, in the Samson-dong area. Ulsan inter city bus terminal is also within walking distance, and the nearest stop, E-mart, is less than 15 meters away.

Breakfast was good, and the staff were very efficient. It’s a small, centrally located modern hotel with chic decor. The toilet facilities were good, and the room had a kettle, coffee, and tea.
