Star Motel

For the price, the motel was clean and had hot water, so much that I wondered if it was a hot spring. The busy neighborhood didn't make it noisy either, and the soundproofing was good. There's a little park and a convenience store right below, which is handy, and places to eat around the alley behind the motel, including Hanshin Pocha Saemaeul Restaurant. It's right behind Wonju Terminal, very close by. The service really stood out. After I booked online, the motel called right away to explain that there'd been an error on my part and offer to upgrade the room. They said I could cancel if I'd been inconvenienced and were truly sorry. I could feel they meant it and wanted to keep their promise to customers. They also asked about how I'd get there and checked in on little details. The person who handed me the keys at the counter looked young, and I found myself wondering how someone learns to be that kind. It's been a long time since kindness like that left me feeling so good, with nothing bad to say. I asked about checkout because of my schedule the next day, and they were more flexible than the time they'd promised. Good-value motel in Wonju.

They draw you in with a 35,000 won price, then charge 50,000 won. The place is in poor condition, and the surroundings are unsanitary.

Just a typical motel, nothing out of the ordinary.
