Urbanstay Naksan Beach

The veranda in our ocean-view room had a beautiful outlook, and being right across from Naksan Beach made the location perfect!! Wow bb The place was clean and well cared for, so I was very satisfied. We also got to use the infinity pool for free during our visit, which made it even more fun. If I go back to Sokcho, I’d return 50,000%!!!

The bed is low and hard, and there was construction noise even over the weekend. With the double-glazed windows shut, though, it stayed quiet. The room itself was in great condition, with nice interiors and good cleanliness. Soundproofing seemed solid too, I couldn’t hear a thing. Maybe it’s the sea breeze, but when I start my car in the morning, the engine starts up and I don’t know what. I’ve never seen that before.

The room condition was surprisingly good when I got in right at 4, though early check-in isn’t allowed at all. Late checkout is available for a fee. I paid about 100,000 won for two nights and three days, Monday to Tuesday, which was very cheap. Everything runs unmanned, and there were lots of families with parents and kids. The room had a spacious, comfortable bathroom vanity, a sink that made eating in the room convenient, and TV-to-phone connectivity. Naksan Beach is right in front, with plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and lots of people seemed to order delivery to their rooms. The building’s underground parking goes deep but isn’t very big, so I’d suggest parking an hour or two before check-in. The infinity pool was so crowded that I couldn’t stay as long as I’d expected, and swimming was difficult with so many people. There’s also coin karaoke and a board game cafe on the hotel’s first floor. The one real downside was asking the front desk for wooden chopsticks: the staff member looked really annoyed and said, “We don't have any wooden chopsticks.” It was hard to believe they were hotel staff. Given the price, maybe staff training is hard to invest in, and the hotel is unmanned anyway. It also seems like a tough place for older guests who aren’t used to kiosks or cell phones.

The ocean-view infinity pool is amazing. It’s a shame it’s still too windy to use it early on.
