Andong CM Park Hotel

There’s a supermarket right across the street, but the area feels like a business district and gets quiet at night. It’s also a long way from Andong proper. The rooms and bathroom are spacious, though the room feels a bit bare. Bright white lights don’t help the atmosphere, and running the AC from the TV remote left the room feeling like a refrigerator the next morning. Breakfast is served in a banquet room on the roof, and the way there isn’t clearly marked.

The reception staff really went out of their way for me. I was struggling to book the rest of my bus and train trips online, and Ms Won Young Jung and Ms Lee Da Dam took the time to help with all of them. They deserve a big thank you, and credit to management for having such customer focused staff. The hotel was very clean, and the beds were comfortable during my two nights there. There are plenty of restaurants and places for entertainment within walking distance, and Hahoe Historical village is about a 15 minute taxi ride away. I’d gladly recommend staying here when visiting Andong, Korea.

The room and bathroom were large, but the bed was hard. The refrigerator was noisy, the air conditioning temperature couldn’t be controlled, and breakfast choices were limited. There was no shower door or curtain, and I could hear the neighboring room flush.

It was easier to get to than I expected, and parking was free. The stay turned out much better than I’d anticipated.
