Yeoju Seven

The room itself was clean, but it was very dim, and I had to ask for a kettle. The staff weren't friendly. We were told check-in wasn't until 6pm unless we paid another 30,000 won, which was 60% of the room price. I've only come across such late check-in times and extra charges for arriving early in Korea, and that wasn't clear when booking. It felt like a scam, especially since so many hotels look old, run-down, and empty. That really soured the stay. I could understand it if I'd arrived at 9am, but I'd come in the late afternoon after cycling all day. It seems like a way to gouge tourists :-(

The convenience store right next door is handy, and Yeoju Seven turned out to be cleaner and more comfortable than I expected. I came here after a business trip to Yeoju or a shopping trip to the Premium Outlets, and wondered if there was better value around. The bedding was neat and wonderfully soft, and the air felt fresh as soon as I walked in. The simple, modern interior felt cozy, unlike the dreary feel of a typical motel. I slept deeply for the first time in quite a while. The bathroom was spotless, with no water stains, and the amenities were thoughtfully provided. There's a PC in the room, useful for urgent work as well as games. Getting around was easy because it's close to major hubs in Yeoju. The owner greeted me warmly, which made a good first impression. The commercial area nearby isn't very dense, so bring any snacks you might want. For the quality and price, I think it's the best choice in Yeoju, and I'd come back.
